Formed in 1989, Quartetto Gelato is a Canadian ensemble celebrated for blending classical masterworks with tangos, gypsy, klezmer and other international repertoire delivered with theatrical humour and multi-instrumental virtuosity. They have toured and recorded internationally, including the 2021 album Tasty Tunes, and were named NPR Performance Today’s Debut Artist of the Year while also earning Juno and other award nominations. Their concerts and PBS/DVD broadcasts have helped establish a large crossover audience across North America and beyond.
