Richard Cortez is a vocalist and bandleader whose debut album Mood Swings reached over one million streams within three months and has since passed two million. He has released Standards in Orbit, Nightbird, and the holiday collaboration A Cavlan & Cortez Christmas, and has held residencies at venues including Birdland and Mezzrow while performing at prestigious stages such as Jazz at Lincoln Center. Cortez is also known for curating Club Cumming's live-music programming and for connecting performance with queer and community-focused activism.
