Rick Mercer is a Canadian comedian, television personality and author who gained national prominence on This Hour Has 22 Minutes and later created and hosted The Rick Mercer Report (2004–2018). His Talking to Americans special attracted 2.7 million viewers and he has won numerous Gemini/Canadian Screen Awards. Mercer was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2014.
