Small Opera is the project of Vancouver-based musician Jason Bienia, whose songs move slowly and deliberately, shaped by reflection, patience, and a grounded sense of searching.
Bienia’s path to this work has been long and varied, shaped by years of writing and performing across different musical worlds before settling into the quieter, more inward language of Small Opera. There’s a feeling here of music made with thoughtful intention rather than urgency—songs that carry the weight of lived experience without announcing it, treating love as an underlying current rather than a declaration.
With a new album set for release in 2026 and the first two singles out now, Small Opera continues to explore themes of time, intimacy, and optimism. These are songs meant to be shared—communal in spirit, intimate in sound—offering connection and quiet hope in an unsettled world.
