Christmas by Candlelight gives audiences a peaceful break amid the bustle of the holiday season, featuring the music of Arvo Pärt.
Founded in 1971 by John Washburn, the Vancouver Chamber Choir ranks with the handful of North America's best fully-professional choruses and is noted for its diverse repertoire and performing excellence.
The choir has released 36 recordings, received numerous awards, and toured across Europe, the US, Japan, South Korea and China. Champions of Canadian music, they are responsible for commissions and premiers of choral works by 145 composers and arrangers, most of whom are Canadian.
Under the direction of Artistic Director Kari Turunen, the choir will present an enchanting programme of seasonal works — offering a restorative evening of calm, beauty, and soaring voices amid the whirlwind of the festive season.
