About
How does someone go from being a Jesus-loving Christian youth group leader to a non-binary, kinky, polyamorous queerdo? Misery, mishaps, and making out with a whole lot of people!
In this auto-biographical piece you will see what life beyond the binary can look like when you fearlessly embrace who you are (and say TO HECK with all the people who are holding you back)!
I will take you through the trials and tribulations of changing my religion, realizing my sexual orientation and gender identity, dating the wrong people, dating way too many people, finalizing my divorce at 25, and discovering myself along the way.
Please note that I will be touching on some traumatic moments from my life, but I believe that these moments are important to include because they made me who I am today and real life isn’t all sunshine, however we can laugh at the rain.
And make no mistake, this show will be very funny, and I promise that it ends on a positive note!
Join me for a hilarious and touching tale of growth, debauchery, and self discovery! We can laugh (and maybe cry) together!
About the Artist:
Mx. Tanner Valentine (they/them) is a white settler living on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. This is their very first fringe show and they are beyond excited to share their story with you. When they aren't doing theatre, they are nerding out about consent, non-monogamy, and how much they love pineapple on things.
