Celebrate Creativity at Community Canvas
Saturday, September 19, 2026 | 10:00am to 4:00pm
Community Canvas is a new free arts festival that brings Maple Ridge's creative community together for a full day of hands-on artistic discovery. Whether you're an artist, an arts lover, or simply curious, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Artist Try-Its
Roll up your sleeves and discover the joy of artmaking through a variety of free, hands-on artistic experiences led by our Artists in Residence and other local artists. These drop-in activities offer a chance to explore, experiment, and connect alongside artists shaping our local creative community.
Public Art Engagements with Guildhouse Project
Maple Ridge-based Guildhouse Project will transform various spaces inside The ACT into vibrant hubs of creativity and interaction. Voice your ideas, collaborate with others, and become part of the artwork itself. Discovery awaits at every corner.
Trei - Immersive Gallery Performance
Step into The ACT Gallery for Trei, a live performance of traditional Indian dance by Vidya Kotamraju presented within the exhibition of works by Laurence Belzile. Surrounded by contemporary art pieces, audiences will experience a cultural fusion of visual and performing arts that engages, inspires, and delights.
Featured Workshop: Embodied Clown - Play & Presence (19+)
September 19 & 20 | 12:00pm to 4:00pm
Registration Required
Looking to take your creativity a step further? As part of the Community Canvas celebration weekend, join this two-day workshop exploring clowning techniques, character comedy, and physical performance with internationally acclaimed performer, Priscilla Costa.
