Mini Manga and Anime Convention
Vancouver Public Library Presents
About
The Vancouver Public Library is seeking local anime and manga artists for its first ever Mini Manga and Anime Convention. This is an opportunity for creators to have access to a booth consisting of a 2' x 6' table and 2 chairs in the Alice MacKay Room. The space is located on the lower level of Central Library and has a capacity for approximately 200 people with a projector and screen available for presentations as well.
Assistance with marketing, room set-up and spaces for lightning talks and workshop sessions around the inspiration and production of creative works in both anime and manga is also available.
Invite your friends, family and other creators to come out for a fun afternoon to meet and socialize with local Vancouver-based manga and anime communities. Cosplay is strongly encouraged and prizes will be awarded.

Panel discussions:
Haruki Sekiguchi is a PhD student in the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on voice acting in anime and Japanese films, exploring how voice constructs queer and gender presentations and representations. He grew up across Japan, France, and New Zealand. Outside of his research, he enjoys anime, film, pop music, chasing sunsets by the ocean, and boxing.
