Fringe Patio – Tariq

Tariq is a Juno nominated songwriter and recording artist known for his solo work and also his work with the band, Brasstronaut. A stalwart of the Canadian indie scene for decades, his new songs represent a new and collaborative approach to making music working with musicians Robert Chursinoff (Drums), Peter Carruthers (Bass/Keys), and Adam Nanji (Guitar) who have all been members of some of the most prominent bands in Canada including Tegan and Sara, Said The Whale and Belle Game. Decidedly louder, and more immediate Tariq is trading in soft folk harmonies for full throated wails on this new work. The smooth bass and drum groove sets the table while the choruses are a whirlwind of screeching guitars, pounding drums and fuzzed out bass. Together, these musicians are busy completing a new set of songs recorded and produced by John Collins (Destroyer; The New Pornographers) set for release in 2027.
