About

Coinciding with Culture Days, the 10th annual Africa With the Masters (AWM) Festival is a three-day celebration of African arts, cultures, and intergenerational knowledge, featuring performances, workshops, and culturally relevant arts experiences led by African Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and professional artists living in Canada. Rooted in the Spirit of the Village, the festival promotes friendship, respect, and meaningful cultural exchange, welcoming people of all backgrounds through music, dance, storytelling, traditional games, and shared artistic experiences.

In 2026, Africa With the Masters invites our community into a year of Wholeness — a homecoming to ourselves and to one another.

Wholeness is the practice of embracing every part of who we are: our stories, our emotions, our bodies, our cultures, our lineages, and our hopes for the future. It reminds us that we are complete not because we are perfect, but because every part of our journey has shaped who we have become.

Through dance, music, storytelling, food, and intergenerational connection, this year's festival explores what it means to feel rooted, balanced, and fully alive. As we prepare to celebrate AWM's 10th anniversary in 2027, Wholeness serves as the foundation for the next chapter—a moment to integrate the healing, unity, wisdom, and dignity we have cultivated together over the past decade.

Join us as we celebrate the beauty of being whole: individually, collectively, and as a village.

AWM is a bilingual festival presented in English and French. Certaines activités se dérouleront en français, selon le public présent.
