This event takes place during National Forest Week, an annual celebration of Canada's forest heritage and raises awareness of the importance of forests in communities across the country, including Surrey!
The event is held by the picnic shelters and play areas, just a short walk from the parking lot.
The event runs from 10am-1pm, but the park is open from dawn to dusk—feel free to explore before or after!
Relax at one of the park’s picnic tables, shelters or benches. You’re welcome to bring your own blanket or lawn chair too.
Washrooms are available in the parking lot, just a short walk from the event site.
Free parking is available in the main lot off 80 Ave across from 159 St.
Leashed dogs are welcome. Please come prepared to clean up after your dog.
Accessible parking & washrooms are available in the 80 Ave lot.
Event area is flat and grassy, with a path connecting to the parking lot.
Service animals are welcome.
A free BBQ lunch (hot dog—beef or veggie, chips, and a drink) is available for planters after planting a tree or shrub. Lunch vouchers will be provided on-site while supplies last.
Bringing your own picnic? Please remember to pack it in and pack it out.
Alcohol is not permitted in unlicensed public spaces.
Event takes place rain or shine.
All tools & training are provided.
Dress to get dirty & wear sturdy closed-toe shoes.
Don’t forget your camera—the park is beautiful, and there will be lots of great photo opportunities! Enjoy the nature trail loop (1.8 km) through the forest or stroll through the blooming Fleetwood Gardens.
